Twin Horror

Our good pals Eskimo Twins have been catching the ears of a fair few tastemakers with their productions lately. Include Fake Blood, Boys Noize, plus Radios 1’s Zane Lowe, Kissy Sellout and Annie Mac in that list and you can see why people are starting to stand-up and take notice of the pair.

Now ahead of the chills and darkness of winter, Eskimo Twins release their Wax:On Music debut, the ‘Horror EP’. A frighteningly stylish duo of mutant variants where the glitchy acid-drenched techno in ‘Horror’ supports French sounding arpeggios and voice-box vocals, and the analogue 808 noodlings, Moog grumblings and sci-fi squeakings glare menacingly at the optimistic vintage piano house riffs of ‘Peck’.

You've Got The Love

image: yimmy yayo

I've got nothing else to do this evening. All the remixes I have to do are finished, I've eaten my own weight in food, and I've drank all the cups of tea I think I can handle for one day. So, I thought I'd post up some music from my favourite band at the moment - The XX.

If you haven't heard about them before (which you probably have, as no one will shut up about them), they are just an awe-inspiring band. I can't even exactly put into words why I like them so much. They are even better than that scene in Rocky IV where the Robot comes in and says "Happy Birthday Paulie".

Their self-titled album is out now, so go buy it.

Ghost Flashin'

A few of you may have noticed that I have started to produce my own solo stuff away from the usual Youth Attack! stuff I've been concentrating on over the last few years. With Ghosts Of Venice I went down the root of my passion for Filter House and the way House producers in the 90's used to do their thang, creating bad ass loops sampled from oldschool Funk and Disco records. Here's a remix I did of a Feadz track. Check out the Myspace page for more tracks. Who said French house was dead?

Fabric Of Win

I was supposed to post this on Friday, but i've been ill - don't worry its not Swine Flu, I hope. It's also pretty hard to do anything with this prehistoric laptop.

This is the new single from Kitsuné golden boys Joe and Will Ask?. The release features a Club Mix and A Late night Mix - which is a self-remix showcasing their more minimal techno side. Enjoy.

While you're at it, go and grab their remix of the Grum track 'Heartbeats' which is out now on Beatport.

Saturday Night Fever

Staying in on a Saturday night? Shock horror. Trying very hard to keep myself away from watching 'The X Factor' by redesigning the blog and listening future releases for the label. Anyway, enough of that.

Darling Buds Of August.

We got this in our inbox a few days ago, and thought it was about time we shared it with you. This is a bootleg remix of the Youth Attack! track 'Yo Paris' by Darling Farah. He has quite a talent for making dark and deep techno. It builds slowly, but is well worth the wait.

Check out the blog on friday as we will be posting up the new single from Joe And Will Ask?. Awesome!

VIP Riding

We're almost set on our Youth Attack! collaboration track with London youngsters TEDD. It's a bassy little jam with a sort of - dare I say it - Fidget House vibe. Good for heating up the winter dancefloors when it see's a release though. In the meantime, I thought I would share with you a track that is a staple in pretty much every set we play, and has been ever since it got dropped in our inbox almost a year ago. Although the original of this track is one of my favourite dance tracks of all time, this version comes quite close.

Summer Feeling

image: lookbook.nu model; Karit K

Yo! There hasnt been a post from me in quite a while. We've only just got the internet in KTR HQ, and I've just managed to recover from a whirlwind week in Ibiza. I've still got that Summer feeling, even if it is very windy and horrible in Leeds at the moment!

The Big Freeze

Apparently the Winter still hasn't left us, even though its officially spring. Even more snow to come this week, which to me is a good thing! Bring on the summer Techno.

Tonka - Freeze

How Do?

Back blogging again after a million light years away, its been too long. Expect bigness.

Heres a nice warm bit of spacy techno from a few of the current masters of this stuff, Bodzin and Romboy. Originally the B-side to Ferdinand but definitely the standout track. Good to have on very loud whilst destrying the Helghast on Killzone 2.
